By now most of you know my friends. John, who wanted to save the world by showering with Diana, but when his wife Mary caught them, she almost through him out from their house. I had to send them for a holiday to save their marriage. Then there is Dave whose wife Laura died in a traffic accident, but he talks to her ghost. Dave’s friend Martin was worried that Dave was getting crazy and found another woman for him, Andrea. In my last story Dave and Andrea got married and after few months of living together, Andrea made two important discoveries:
Marriage is just a fancy word for adopting an overgrown male child who cannot be handled by his parents anymore.
There is a name for people who are always wrong about everything all the time: Husband.
“Is that all? Isn’t there any other purpose of a husband?” asked Dave.
“There is,” and Andrea gave him a nice long kiss. “That’s another purpose of a husband.”
One night, when Andrea was sleeping and Dave was still awake, he heard a voice:
“You are nicer to her then you were to me. I am jealous.”
“But Laura, I always loved you. But you must realize we were married for couple of years, and I am with Andrea for only few months. It is different!”
Dave was almost shouting, and Andrea woke up.
“To whom were you talking to?”
“To nobody, I had just a dream.”
“Dream about what?”
“About my past.”
“Your past with Laura? Are you still talking to her? Even though she is dead? Are you getting crazy?”
“No, I am not crazy. Let’s go back to sleep.”
Next day Dave invited his friend Martin for a coffee.
“Laura is getting jealous, and Andrea think I am getting crazy by talking to a dead person. Perhaps she is right.”
“You aren’t getting crazy, and Laura isn’t jealous. She doesn’t talk to you, she is dead. Who is talking to you is her image in your head. It is just an image, not a real person. You must accept that, otherwise, you indeed will get crazy.”
Dave knew Martin was right and decided to talk to Laura for the last time.
“Please Laura, let me be, let me continue with my life. If you ever loved me, leave me alone,” and Laura, the one in Dave’s head, disappeared from his life.
As I said, they all are my friends. Therefore, one evening I invited them to my house. They came, introduced themselves, I served them some refreshments and let them talk. They all have a story to say, just like every one of us.
